Ceremony and Afternoon Music
‘Ceremony and Afternoon music, what is that all about ?’
That is usually the question I am often faced with whenever mentioning the above service. Mainly because it is fairly new and also because the focus is an attention to detail which often bypasses many brides.
If I can give you a scenario...
Just imagine, all the hard work you and all your friends and family have put into your perfect day is finally starting to be noticed. You have a lovely venue, all your guests are seated and your husband to be is standing at the front, everyone eagerly awaiting you entrance. A few final adjustments to your dress are made then it’s time to walk down the aisle on the arm of your very proud father. A member of staff from the venue then shouts as loud as he can for everyone to be upstanding.
But wait!
You cannot start yet, the venue have pressed play on the little portable cd player in the corner of the room. It is working fine, a bit loud at the front of the room and quiet at the back, not very clear but ‘it will do’. The reason for your delay is that there is a long intro to the song, and you wish to make your entrance at a certain time, maybe the chorus or the part of the song that has a lot of meaning to you.
Anyway, after your wait, which seemed like an eternity because of the excitement (or nerves?) you can finally walk down the aisle. You make your entrance at the part of the song you like, walk down the aisle, noticing how the music is getting quieter / louder depending on where the player is positioned. You see your gorgeous groom standing and arrive to meet him. Click, then silence, the music come to an abrupt halt as the stop button is pressed.
You have your ceremony, shed a few tears maybe and now it is time for the processional, the walk back up the aisle. You have to wait a few seconds until a member of staff from the venue finds the track you want and presses play on the machine. Again the track starts from the beginning but you have no choice but to make your way back up the aisle. Once you have left everyone starts to filter out and the music will likely finish before the last person has left because the track is not long enough.
So what is the alternative?
I can provide a discreet PA system to filter low level music which everyone in the room can hear clearly. I will have discussed your exact timings and requirements before your big day so can fade in your favourite song at the correct timing for you to proceed to walk down the aisle. No waiting so less time for those nerves to build up. When you reach your groom I will then fade out the music gradually.
During the signing of the register, your pre-chosen track, or tracks, can be faded in to add to the ambience of the ceremony then again slowly faded out.
When you are ready to walk back up the aisle again the music can be faded in and will continue playing until after the last person has left, without any gaps.
Also, remember the member of staff having to shout to ask everyone to stand for your arrival? Well if you wish we can make any announcements clearly and professionally through our PA system.
A similar situation applies to your afternoon meal.
Instead of a cd player in the corner of the room, I can place small descreet speakers around the room and play your choice of background music to create a fantastic atmosphere for your first meal as husband and wife.
As an added bonus, as I am on site anyway, you can use my pa system for making those all important wedding speeches using a wireless microphone - ensuring everyone can hear without the person speaking having to shout, and also I offer my casual master of ceremony services free of charge when you book afternoon meal music.
